It is more than kinda crazy – it is very crazy – but I signed up to do NaNoWriMo. An acronym I can never figure out how to say, for an task that seems foolish. National Novel Writing Month. Write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.
I haven’t written fiction since my one creative writing class in college. Which I hated. And yet for weeks, I’ve felt drawn towards this idea. I have only a vague idea of what I want to write about. Nothing at all approaching an outline or plot or even character profiles. No research. No plan.
I’m just going to write. And wear my silly sun hat.
This might mean I won’t blog again until December. Or it might mean I’ll be blogging everyday to avoid the catastrophe of a novel spewed out at breakneck speed.
Only time will tell.
